QuestKeeper - We want your Feedback

Posted in Town Hall ·

We recently introduced QuestKeeper, our new daily quest system!

Each day, you can visit the Quest Keeper NPC to discover a new challenge. Completing the quest earns you a Quest Point, builds your daily completion streak, and gives you points to spend in the Quest Shop.

Now that everyone has had some time to try it, we would love to hear your feedback and suggestions!

💬 What do you enjoy about QuestKeeper so far?

⚖️ Do the quests feel balanced and achievable?

🎁 What new rewards would you like added to the Quest Shop?

🧭 Are there any new quest types or challenges you would like to see?

🔧 Have you encountered anything confusing or not working as expected?

Please share your thoughts and ideas below. Not every suggestion will necessarily be implemented, but all constructive feedback will be reviewed as we continue improving the system.

The Questkeeper seemed to work well and the quests were achievable but not too easy and a decent variety. I think it appeared at a time thatprobably wasn't great for engagement - it was just after the update that broke a few things including the shopping distirct and quite a few regulars weren't playing as much. It also came with no warning or hype or anything so it was a bit confusing as to what was going on. I think, next time it might work better earlier in the season and would benefit from some advertising a few weeks before it actually starts to get people excited and on board with the idea. I do like having the NPc at spawn to inroduce the quests :)

I couldn't see a way to add a post so I'll just add to this one. I just wanted to ask how long the QK event lasts or whether it is intended to be a permanent addition. I generally prefer a more vanilla game so I guess I'd be happy to enjoy it for a period but wouldn't be keen for it to be a permanent feature of CFC.

@PurelightisaCat Thanks for the feedback! Happy to hear that the quests have felt achievable without being too easy.

You make a really good point about the timing and how QuestKeeper was introduced and that was more on me just implementing it without instruction or hype. With everything else happening around that update, it probably didn’t get the attention or introduction it deserved. Giving people some notice beforehand and building a bit of hype around it is definitely something I can improve on for future systems and larger additions.

I am glad you like having the Quest Keeper NPC at spawn! I wanted the system to feel like something players naturally discover and interact with in the world rather than just another menu or command.

i think the quest keeper is pretty cool and the quests i have gotten seemed to be in a good balanced level of difficulty for the rewards given the only thing i dont really like is the reward that lets you tp to people it just feels kind of un vanilla or doesnt feel like it fits the vibe of the server although maybe thats just my opinion im all for everything else though and i do like the idea and i definitely will want to use it next season

That’s completely fair feedback, and I can definitely see where you’re coming from.

The main reason we added the Teleport Scroll was actually because we regularly get newer players asking whether we have "/tpa", which is something we don’t plan on adding to the server.

We saw the scroll as a bit of a middle ground. Rather than making player teleporting freely available, or something you can simply buy from the Shopping District, you have to complete quests, save up your Quest Points, and deliberately redeem them for a limited-use scroll.

That way it is still something you have to work towards and make a decision about using, rather than becoming an everyday convenience command.

That said, the point about it feeling less vanilla is definitely valid, and this is exactly the kind of feedback we want while we’re testing Quest Keeper. We’ll keep an eye on how people feel about it and whether the scroll fits the overall feel we want for next season.

Thanks for the feedback! At this stage we’re still testing Quest Keeper and using this period to gather feedback and work out what needs adjusting, but we are currently looking at it as something that could become a permanent addition to CFC.

The intention would be for it to remain completely optional. You could continue playing survival exactly as you normally would without needing to interact with Quest Keeper at all.

I’d actually be really interested to hear a bit more about what makes you hesitant about it being permanent. Is it mainly the quest/reward system itself feeling less vanilla, particular rewards such as the Teleport Scroll, or more that having a permanent quest system changes the overall feel of the server?

That kind of feedback would be really useful for us, especially while we’re still deciding how Quest Keeper should fit into CFC long term.
